Easy Ways to Eat Fruits & Veggies Every Day

You know that fruits and veggies are crucial to incorporate into your diet, but sometimes it’s difficult – especially if you’re on the go.  In fact, a recent Gallup poll found that only 55.9 percent of Americans are eating five or more servings of fruits and vegetables at least four days out of the week. Most of us could and should eat more vegetables daily. Treat your body right by feeding it the nutrients it needs!
Here are some ways to incorporate more fruits and vegetables in your diet:

1) Buy small vegetables, or chop into small pieces for snacking. A baggie of baby carrots, cucumber slices, celery, or grapes make a great mid-day, or on-the-go snack!

2) Make fruits and veggies a focal point on your counter or in your refrigerator so that they are always on your mind. A fruit bowl on your countertop

3) We are inclined to stock up on what we see first, so when you go shopping, start in the vegetable section then head to the perimeter of the grocery store. Most processed food is located in the center isles.

4) Get in the habit of filling half your plate with vegetables. You will get one to two servings at each meal.

5) Enjoy fruit and veggie-heavy smoothies when you need an extra boost. See the recipe below!

6) Stay stocked on frozen veggies and prepare large quantities of veggie-heavy soups for a quick meal later.
